Can I use the new iPad magic keyboard?

I was wondering if I can buy the new magic keyboard and use it with my iPad Pro the 3rd generation.

When it is released (May 2020), the new Magic Keyboard is reported by Apple to be compatible with both the current 4th Generation 2020 iPad Pro - and its immediate predecessor of the 3rd Generation 2018 iPad Pro.
