Mac Can't Find Personal Hotspot

I use my iPhone hotspot to connect my Mac to the internet as I can't get broadband, but more often than not when I start my Mac (from sleep or restart) it fails to find my iPhone.

It finds all other available networks - just struggles to find my iPhone.

Even with personal hotspot on my phone always turned on, I'm having to turn it off and on again in order for my Mac to find it, and sometimes even have to restart my phone.

As for auto-join. I don't want it to auto-join. I have this setting turned off.
I just want it to appear in the list straight away so I can connect to it manually like below;

Well it appears your hot spot is there—

You can try making changes to your iPhone>Settings>Cellular>HotSpot

Also iPhone>Settings>WiFi> Hotspot>Automatic

Use Instant Hotspot

Here's how to connect to your Personal Hotspot:

  • On your Mac, use the Wi-Fi status menu  in the menu bar to choose the name of the iPhone or iPad providing your Personal Hotspot .
  • On your iPad, iPod touch, or another iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then tap the name of the iPhone or iPad providing your Personal Hotspot .

See if that makes a difference.
