Reset phone, photos lost
I recently reset my wife's iphone, but it seems her photos was never backed up.
Is there any way I can recover the lost photos?

I am not sure how did you reset? Was it by deleting all photos and data? Which backup iTunes or iCloud?
What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support
iCloud backup doesn’t include information already stored in iCloud, like Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Mail, Notes, Voice Memos, shared photos, iCloud Photos*, Health data, call history, and files you store in iCloud Drive.
*-If you had turned on iCloud Photos, your content is automatically stored in iCloud.
