Two Thoughts:

• Check Trash:

Are they in Trash? If so, recover them, by just dragging-and-dropping it.

• Undo this Action:

Perhaps using you can just “undo” it, if you have not made any other changes: [Hold-Down: Command + Tap: “z”]

Check to be sure iCloud Drive has not been enabled. Look in your Finder Sidebar for "iCloud Drive".
