I've got 160GB iPod Classic.
I've plugged it into my PC, it connects, starts to sync, then stops after a few seconds and just shows as connected. Its not a memory issue as it shows 37.29 GB of free space.
How can I get my iPod to sync?

Have you changed computers? Perhaps you simply need to set up your sync selections again. If there is media. on the device that isn't in your library see Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community.
