Using a Spanish keyboard

To use a bluetooth Spanish keyboard to write emails, I need to set the language to Spanish for the ipad to recognize the keyboard layout. It works well when writing in Spanish... but if writing in English the spelling does not work. Is there a way to set the two, keyboard and spelling, separetly?

Yes, no problem. For each language keyboard (which is what determines spellcheck) in settings > general > keyboard you can set a specific Hardware Keyboard. You just tap over at the right edge and choose what you want (NOT "automatic"). For a Spanish hardware keyboard you should choose Spanish ISO for both English and Spanish to get the behavior you are looking for.

I found no Spanish ISO option so I selected Spanish,
I can type in both Spanish and English. But,,, the spellchecker works only in Spanish.

You should certainly find Spanish ISO if you tap in the correct place, over at the right edge. To switch the spellcheck, you switch the keyboard language via the globe key or Control plus Space.
