Internal mic not working

The internal mic on my MacBook Pro has stopped working but think it's only been since the Catalina 10.15.4 update.

I've tried system preferences and sound and there's nothing getting registered, no blue bars etc. and so have done a PRAM reset as well but that's not made any difference and I've also created another user and I'm still having the same issues!

Help!

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.13

Hmm.

If you are convinced it is 10.15.4 related then you can fall back and revert to a previous macOS from your backups.

Revert your Mac to a previous macOS version - Apple Support

To trouble shooting involves what you have tried in your guest user...

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and test. Reboot and test as caches get rebuilt.

In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware etc. . A reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
