I had just uninstalled and reinstalled my iTunes on my Windows 10. Now when I plug in my iPhone 8 into my Windows 10, the picture of the battery on my iPhone turns green and the lightning bolt shows up in it, and a sound comes on in Windows. All this tells me my iPhone is connected and charging, but the button in iTunes that allows me access to my iPhone from iTunes does not show up.

I tried, but it said I couldn't install it because there is still an account on my PC that has the Microsoft Store version of iTunes installed, and I didn't think I had any other accounts on my PC.
In any case, I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it from Microsoft Store, and that seemed to have fixed the problem.

What shows up when I unplug and plug the iPhone is Portable Devices->Apple iPhone. When I try to update that, it says it has the most recent update. When I try to update with files on my hard drive as instructed, the required files are not found.
I went through that and it didn't help because Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not found anywhere in Device Manager even after I unplug and plug the iPhone back in.
When I updated the driver, it took me to update windows, and I updated Windows. Now I see the iPhone button in iTunes, but iTunes is frozen.
You're probably running the Microsoft Store version of iTunes. You may have better luck if you remove it and use the old school installer.
