Hello! I am using apple products for years but just now decided to try iCloud. I have a question: can I store my all photos in iCloud and keep them safe BUT to delete photos from iPhone to free up space on my phone? Does iCloud work like DropBox or Google photos?

iCloud work slightly different than google photos as you don't actually "delete" the photos from your device. iCloud does backup and store all your photos in the Cloud. If you choose to optimize storage on your device, the device will start to remove the actual file from the device leaving basically a place holder in the photos app. When you click on the place holder the device will download the full size image. I am not sure if I explained that too clearly 😆 but, you can find details about iCloud photos and storage management below:

Thank you! Yes that helped to me 😊 iCloud is good for sharing and storing photos but for keeping photos I will need different app probably google photos. Developers should fix that issue, they should improve iCloud as a storage for photos where you could keep your photos 😊
