Missing Files form Folder

Hi, I had lot of my files saved on document folder on mac and all of sudden when I log in i see all no files in the folder. I don't know if they are moved to some folder or they have been deleted by someone or automatically. If someone could help me in restoring the files i Would be really thankful, as I had some important document which i cant recover from anywhere else. Please help me.!

The usual remedy is to restore them from a Time Machine backup: Restore items backed up with Time Machine on Mac

1) Use SpotLight search (Upper left magnifying icon in Finder menu) to locate files lost.

Type names of one of the lost files to see if you somehow moved it.

2) I use Time Capsule backup on my shared WIFI drive to recover files that were accidentally trashed. But you would have needed to set this up prior to recovering the file.

3) Search web for auto recovery software. Many offer free trial period.
