Messages stopped working

Suddenly I can not send a text from my MacBookPro. Messages created on my other devices show up on my laptop but I can not send one out from the laptop. I'm stumped.

How about a bit more info. Are you sending messages Apple product to Apple product? Are your messages going through your iPhone? Are your using your iPhone has the bridge to send out your messages? Age, specs, size and OS version on your Mac?

Mostly I am sending messages to other Apple users but there are some non-Apple people on my list . Normally the iMessage app on my iMac, iPhone , iPad and MacBook are synchronized. Any activity on one shows up on the others. I'm not sure I m saying that right. Up until last evening all was well. Then I sent from my MacBook several iMessages that failed to be delivered. Oddly messages from my other devices shows up in the iMessage app on my macbook as well.

I have multiple Apple products. Once in a while that can happen. On your iPhone to go SETTINGS-MESSAGES-TEXT MESSAGE FORWARDING. Click the slider to OFF next to your MacBook listed. Then slide it back to ON. That should work.

The laptop restart fixed it! I had already tried that earlier but I had not switched forwarding to the macbook off and on as you suggested. I thank you very much.. I think the combination restart and off/on forward switch did the trick.
