If the iPadOS software update has apparently downloaded, but will not install, it may have been corrupted. If so, it will be necessary to delete the download prior to making further attempts to update your iPad.


To delete the failed update:

Settings > General > iPad Storage - scroll down the list of Apps until your find the iPadOS update, touch, then select Delete App.


Once the failed update has been deleted, you can retry the update process:

Settings > General > Software Update
