help :( cannot hear guitar in Garageband

Ive done what seems to be everything correctly

-input device :to Scarlett 2i2

-guitar connected to audio interface/2i2 to usbport 1


No sound will come out as I strum instrument. Interface and system input levels show its being picked up but no sound from gargageband.

using internal speakers while studio monitors arrive.

Hi,


I was talking about the output, not the input. Access to the internal microphone is "input". What is your "output" set on?

Also, try setting the OUTPUT to Scarlett 2i2 and see if you get sound from the headphone port.

Greetings,

The first thing to check is that you have GB audio/midi preferences correct. Output should be "built-in" or "system" not the Scarlett. Then make sure the monitor (orange icon) button is selected. You might consider getting headphones to monitor instead of speakers in case you want to record multiple tracks. You will get feedback if you play an output to speakers and record simultaneously.
