For some time now Bluetooth icon/setup has been missing from system preferences and the menu bar says it is "not available". I have tried Shift+Options and clicking on the menu but no option to fix etc Bluetooth firmware is up to date.
Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot?

I restarted many times and bluetooth continued to be missing from the system preferences. It went missing after being unresponsive for a while. Days later I had shut down and restarted as apposed to restarting and bluetooth reappeared. Mystery but now it works perfectly.
