I have an old Mac USB Drive, that contains Mac OS X Snow Leopard, since I won't use it anymore as a recovery backup. I want to reuse it and erase the content and re-format, that should be easy, hey! but not that easy.

Apple has gone through efforts in keeping these macOS install disks read only which means you will not be able to repurpose it.
