AUX Keyboard as Input?

Is there a way to connect an older AUX-out keyboard to the input setting of a new Macbook Pro? I have plugged it in via aux cord to both my headphone jack (recognized only as output) and usb (just wanted to see if it would have any connection, it didn't) and I'm stuck!

I have never heard of a Mac supporting an aux-out keyboard.

Your Mac supports any keyboard with a USB-A connector, even Windows keyboards. The alphabetic and numeric characters translate very will.

Command and Windows keys usually equal each other as expected.

Occasionally Alt/Option and Control will be reversed.
