Logic Pro X update

tried all suggestions. app store shows button with"open" rather than update. no update notification in app store per other updated apps. reload from the edit menu? no update option there. search logic help for update. no menu item there either. actually has anyone here got lived experience of updating to 10.5?

Based on other posts in the forum it seams many already updated.

In the Mac App Store, open the Logic page. "Open" is supposed to switch to "Update".

Depending on your location, it may take some time before the update is fully available.

In my local Mac App Store, the update showed up in the Updates about 5 min. ago. It was available as an update on the Logic page 8 hours ago.

Did you look under the purchases menu in the app store?

It may take some time before it shows up explicitly as an update. You can lookup Logic in the Mac App Store and update directly.

Showing up in App Store for me as an incompatible update - yet I'm running High Sierra 10.13.6

What gives?

Read the requirements in the Mac App Store: macOS 10.14 or higher.

Yep - now showing that in the App store.

So I have to buy a new Mac if I want to keep upgrading - even though my 2011 one is working just fine.
