Update 10.15.4 downloaded but wont update during restart

Try this: Download and Install the macOS Catalina 10.15.4 Combo Update. After this downloads simple double-click on the app's icon to start it. It will restart your computer on its own. No user interaction is needed. It may take from 30 minutes to an hour, or longer, depending on your hardware.

I'm having this same exact problem with the newest 10.15.5 download that was just released. My Macbook Pro will restart quickly, but does not go through the install process. My iMac processed the update fine.

I was able to figure out the issue. It’s due to not having enough space on the hard drive. Free up some space and you should be all set. You’d think it would prompt you for the issue, but it doesn’t this time around. Think you need about 12 GB free.

I too have this same issue. 10.15.5 downloaded to macOS Catalina and apparently goes thru the install but in 6 the end does not install
