No more audio editor dialog?

What happened to the Keynote audio edit dialog? You were able to double click an audio icon and bring up the editor. That's the only way you can view the timing and remove unwanted audio.

Double clicking an audio file on a slide plays the audio, it does not open the audio Inspector.

To edit an audio file on a slide:

  • select the audio file by clicking on it once
  • go to : Inspector > Format > Audio:

thanks. I see this. Unfortunately this does not have the same useful edit features as the previous version.

The previous version displayed sound waves so you could edit out the “uhhs and umms.” It also displayed running a time code so you could see at what timing to bring in build transitions...

Extremely disappointing to see this great app dumbed down! ☹️

The Keynote team needs to bring these features back.

The current version of Keynote (v10.0) and all previous versions have never included a sound editing function with a waveform editor.

I think you may be confusing Keynote with an external sound editing application such as Audacity, or Garage Band. Both these applications are easy to use and will edit sound files for Keynote.

What specific version of Keynote did you think this editing feature was available?

No more audio editor dialog?
