Operating System Upgrade

I am trying to upgrade from Mojave 10.14.6 to Catalina 10.15.4.

The software downloads and starts to install, but then stops with the following error message.

An error has occurred while running scripts from the package "RecoveryHDMetaDmg.pkg"

Any ideas on what to do please?

Sounds like the download has got damaged or is missing some components.

Quit the installer.

Open your Application folder, locate Install macOS Catalina.app and move it to the Trash.

Empty the Trash.

Go back to the App Store and download Catalina again.

Make sure your mac is connected to your router via cable rather than rely on Wi Fi.

Do not use the mac while it is downloading, do not use any other devices that share

the same internet connection whilst the mac is downloading.
