logic pro x trial before latest version

Hi all,

I've been using the Logic Pro X trial for about a month now, this was before the new version of Logic was announced. What I'd like to know is, will I be able to use the version I'm with now, or when I purchase I'll get the new one? The reason I ask is because I'm running macOS High Sierra (10.13.6) and I don't think my machine will take the minimum system requirements to run this new version of Logic (which I believe is macOS 10.14.6). My machine is an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013)

Thanks!

Hi, I'm in the same position. I'm enjoying the trial but when I tried to purchase it from the App Store yesterday it wouldn't let me because the new version of Logic won't run on High Sierra. Particularly frustrating as it would have been fine if I had decided to purchase it a week ago. The projects I've made using the trial will seemingly be no use to me once the trial expires.

I have spoken to a few people at Apple and they say it is not possible to purchase the previous version, 10.4, only 10.5.

One possible work around is suggested here:

Basically, use a friend's newer Mac to purchase Logic using my Apple ID, then go back to my older Mac, find Logic in the purchase history on the App Store, and hopefully install the latest compatible version (10.4 or whatever).

Does anyone else have experience of this? I am tempted to try it but don't want to risk losing £200. Does anyone know what Apple's returns policy would be in this situation?

Many thanks,

Tom
