Phone Cloned?

After months of suspicious activity, I took my iPhoneX to a computer specialist who scrolled through it for a few moments and said it was very likely cloned. I was not surprised and knew immediately the possible culprit but don’t know HOW its being executed. Details would be appreciated.

The only way to clone a phone would be to restore it from the backup of another phone using the same Apple ID that was on the original phone. However, as soon as you started using the cloned phone it would have data added to it that was not in the original phone.
