I can’t download apps because every time I do it just says “verification required” and asks me to add a payment method. This happens to every app I try to download of any price (including free). I don’t see why I should have to have a payment method if I’m downloading a free app. Can anyone tell me what’s going on?

A valid payment source is required for all App Store purchases, even free applications.
