Sim card tray on gen 7

It will be around one of the sides, you can find it as there will be a small hole and a cut out in the body.

Not all iPads have a SIM card slot, apple sells wifi and wifi with cellular models, you would need to have bought a wifi with cellular models to have a sim card

If its a Cellular model, on the right edge of the iPad (same side as the volume buttons) at the bottom.

You need to insert the sim tool, or a paper clip in the hole with some force. Sometimes more forcethan you think should be necessary. Don't be afraid to push the tool/clip in hard to pop the tray out.
