Double Apple ID-How do you relink your cell phone number to a new ID?

I have two Apple ID's one linked to an email from my childhood (that I no longer have access to, which has all my purchases etc) associated with my cell phone number. I have a new Apple ID with my MacBook that is linked to my current email address and I am getting a new iPhone. I'd like to have my Apple ID on my new phone be my current email Apple ID. How can I relink my cell phone number to a new Apple ID?

Also if I used Family Sharing and used my current email Apple ID as the organizer, and linked it to my old Apple ID, could I essentially link my purchases from my old ID to my new one? Or does the organizer need to be the ID that made the purchases in order to share them with the new ID?

Reference the last paragraph, if you can organize Family Sharing, you can share purchases, no matter which ID made the purchase. Who the organizer is doesn't matter. If you can't access your old ID, you probably can't set up Family Sharing with the ID.

You need to be able to access the ID so you can log in and remove the cell number if you want the number associated with the new ID. If necessary, contact Apple ID Support. See the Apple Support articles below for contact information.
