Change of ID password problems

I have just changed my Apple ID password for about the third time but

when I try to sign in as requested to access various account features my new password ( which Apple have confirmed has been changed ) will not give me access. I get “unknown error in red “ but no access.

And then I do the complete circuit again with the same result.

I am using a Mac Pro, IPad and 11 Pro Max phone.

I would be very pleased for some help on this very annoying issue.

Note that Apple server maintenance may be what is causing your problem. A few days ago I saw a post indicating that, per an Apple tech, Apple is conducting major [server] maintenance and that many services are down. The instruction given was to "try again tomorrow ... [and] maybe the [needed] server will be back online.

On your MacBook Pro:

Create a New Administrator User:

Create a new Administrator user and see what happens when you create it with that. If it succeeds, then it is something misconfigured in your current user. Create the Administrator User in: System Preferences > Users & Groups
