Image Capture not recognizing scanner

Hi! I bought a used Canon P-215 scanner and it isn't recognized by Image Capture. I am running Catalina.

At first, VueScan and ExactScan couldn't see this scanner either. I found the driver released by Canon for Mojave (1.8) and then VueScan and ExactScan would run the scanner. So I know the equipment works.

My question-- is there any way to get Image Capture to recognize this scanner? I'm not really willing to shell out $80-110 for either VueScan or ExactScan.

Thanks in advance.

Is that the full model number?

The list of ICA compatible scanners does not include a Canon P-215

To be supported by Image Capture, the scanner would have to be listed there and have an S in the "Scan" column.
