Do the Files get backed up on iCloud or locally if you choose to do local backups?

I can't find a way to backup the files folder in On My iPad. I tried amazing and they said "No we don't back them up". I don't see a setting in iCloud.

I thought the whole purpose of backup was to backup everything. I have been doing enterprise backups for over 20 years for Windows networks, and everything got backed up.

Seems iPad is not a laptop replacement if it can't backup the files.

Why can’t I find that folder in the iCloud settings?

Tech support told me I should back it up locally and do a restore to another iPad. I don’t have another one to do this with. I did a backup to my Mac and looked at was backed up, and none of the files were listed.

Hello,

If this folder is stored in the On My iPad section then it is not stored on iCloud Drive which is why that folder will not appear under the iCloud Drive settings pane. If you were to restore another iPad using that backup then your data would be restored exactly how it was presented on your current iPad.

I did a full all data on iPad to be backed up locally, and none of the files showed up. I looked under each menu item at the top, and no folder or files showed up. I did a sync as well.

so if I restored to another iPad, the files would not be there.
