If you are using a Mac computer, your contacts should be in the Contacts application. You can sync them to your phone by using iCloud.

On the computer, go to Contacts/Preferences/Accounts, click the plus at the bottom left, and create an iCloud account using your Apple ID. Then go to System Preferences/iCloud (Apple ID for Catalina) and check Contacts syncing on.

On the phone, go to Settings/Your Name/iCloud and slide Contacts syncing on.
