How to put iMusic into iMovie

Having no luck getting music fro iMusic into iMovie project. Stuck at message under audio in iMovie to select from list but no list will come up

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Hi,

By "iMusic" are your referring to Apple Music. If so, you are having trouble because Apple Music cannot be used in iMovie. It is a subscription service, plus all songs are DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected. To use a song in iMovie you would need to purchase it directly from iTunes without involving Apple music anywhere in the purchase chain.

They're in "Music" on this computer. New computer for me. Still adjusting. I did purchase them from iTune. Am on deadline so am making do with p[laying what I have into the iMovie "VoiceOver" device it appears to work, at least better than nothing. Thanks for replying.

Drag the song out of iTunes to your desk top and from there into iMovie. You might even be able to drag it out of iTunes directly into iMovie.
