I have not used my Apple Watch in 1 1/2 years. I have it on the charger and the only thing I see is when I press the button is a red icon with a squiggly cable. Is this the norm and how long will it take to charge this watch?

I have not used my watch for 1 1/2 years. I placed it on the charger and the only thing I see when I push the button is a red icon on a squiggly cable.

Is this normal and how long will it take to to charge this dead battery and will it turn on once it is fully charged?

Since your watch has not been charged in "1 1/2 years," the battery has probably been depleted to the point of failure. If you see a red "!" on your Apple Watch - Apple Support, and Mysterious ‘snake’ Apple Watch error? Here’s what it means

It appears to me that your only option is to contact Apple Support to set up a mail-in repair.
