startup programs won't stop

Hi, upon startup (OS Catalina) I get a number of apps opening every time.

I've tried to disable them:

  • Under System Preferences, Users & Groups, Login Items - offending programs aren't listed here
  • Right click on the item in the dock - Open at Login is unchecked already on the offending programs

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks

Richard

its possible that they were open once when you shut down and now they open up because MacOS thinks you want them open?

maybe try a full Logout and sign in?
