My search does not appear (iOS 13.5.1)

When I swipe down the middle of my home screen of my iPad I’m not getting a search bar.

Nor does it appear at the top of my widgets like it does on my phone

iPad Pro 10.5-inch, Wi-Fi

Touch any empty space on any Home Screen of your iPad - except near the edges and corners of the screen - and slide you finger downwards. The Search dialogue will be revealed at the top of the screen.
