How do you pause video recording on iPhone XR?
Unfortunately you cannot Start - Pause - ReStart the recording. You may only Start and Stop.. This will create multiple clips for the same video subject. You may later edit the clips in iMovie and put them together.

When we recording a continues video, its a good option pause the video for taking othr related scence, please add this feature to next Featured OS
