Some of the names in my contact phone list would disappear, I tried some solutions from internet search which suggest toggle contacts in the iCloud Off and On Again, and also shut down and restart the phone, but still got the problem. Phone is XS Max. Thanks.

Try to sign out and then sign in into ur account, also please make sure that your default new contact is saved to iCloud
