I received a recorded phone call advising me of suspicious activity on my icloud, please press one for apple supprt, seems suspect

Yesterday on one of my iPhones I got a number on my screen that required me to call the number or cancel. Cancel did not work, so I called the number. I was asked for my icloud info, I did not give it and hung up. I rebooted the phone make it work again.

Today I just received a recorded call informing me that there was suspicious activity on my icloud account, press one to speak to apple support, I hung up.

Thoughts......

You are wise to be suspicious.


Apple does not make such calls.

All such calls are scams from criminals attempting to steal your personal and financial information. The callers will often use number spoofing to pretend they are calling from a legitimate business. The correct course of action is to hang up on them, repeatedly if needed. 


Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support
