How can I erase and reset my iphone without remembering my screen time pass code?

I've bought a new Iphone and I must return this one but I can not without first erasing and resetting my old Iphone. The XS Max. I do not remember my Screen pass code. I've tried resetting it but it does not allow me to. I need to return this phone to store within 48 hours. Please help soon as possible
