Have you tried to connect a different BT accessory to your iPad? (if you don't have it, borrow one from your friends)

Read also this support guide, being sure that your Sony headphones are in "discovery" mode (the instructions are in your Sony manual), before trying to connect them to your iPhone, as per this support article:--> If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
