Mac OS doesn't update from 10.15.2 to 10.15.5

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) running os 10.15.2 downloads, restarts and seams to complete the installation. After restart is complete the system still reads 10.15.2 and says the update still needs to be installed. Any solutions?

Download directly the Combo update macOS 10.15.5 https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2040?locale=en_US

reboot into safe boot mode and then launch the combo update to install. Reboot as normal.

SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login
