How to reinstall Mac OS on encrypted Mac?
My Macbook Pro is encrypted, and I forgot the password. How can I reinstall Mac OS on it? I have the dmg file downloaded, but whats next? I don't mind the data loss as I have everything backed up.
Thanks.

Try the following. When you have reinstalled macOS please be sure not to automatically encrypt the drive. Uncheck the option when it appears. Be sure to keep an eye out for it.
Install El Capitan or Later from Scratch
If possible, back up your files.
If this doesn't work, then try this instead:
Internet/Network Recovery of El Capitan or Later on a Clean Disk
If possible, back up your files before proceeding.
