I am not able to update my Mac to current version even I follow the instruction such as restart you Mac but it does not go through

If you have downloaded the installer, reboot in to safe boot mode and launch the installer from there.

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login
