Apple offers iCloud Backup for iPhones and iPads but not for Mac computers. They do offer the ability to sync some data to iCloud and that does offer some benefits of a backup but not all. It isn't possible to include everything on your Mac in syncing; also, if you delete something, accidentally or otherwise, and then want to recover it, you can only do that for a limited time (30 or 60 days in most cases). Personally, I like the fact that synced data is offsite and therefore safer in the event of a fire or theft, but I would not rely on it as a backup. I also use an external ssd for a full backup.
