Recent photos in iCloud are not showing up on my Maac

My photos are in iCloud, they all show up on my iPhone and my iPad, but recent ones don't show up on my mac. Why?

Try going to System Preferences/iCloud (Apple ID for Catalina) and stop Photos syncing by unchecking the box. Wait a couple of minutes, then check syncing. Allow time for the sync to complete. The photo sync is very, very slow and could easily take 2 days or more to complete.


Last resort  - have you tried signing out of iCloud, restarting, and then sign back in?
