On my I pad I can set up the camera to check view before using zoom etc I now want to use my MacBook Air. Do I have a camera icon to put on bar to set it up ?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. You can use the FaceTime app to check the operation of your MacBook Air's FaceTime camera.
