If you have iCloud Photos enabled, deleting pictures from iPhone or from iCloud it's the same thing.

But, before deleting them, I would suggest that you save /archive a copy on your computer, using this support article:--> Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud - Apple Support

When done, you'll sleep better.
