How do I uncheck large blocks of songs in my Apple Music library on my MBP OS 10.15.5?

All my songs are checked, by default I suppose. I have tried many ways to uncheck the hundreds of songs that are in my library, with no luck. There also seem to be no operations in the pull-down menus to remove all checks. What am I missing?

Highlight one song, then Command-A to highlight them all. Right-click and choose "Uncheck Selection."
