I have a Apple Watch three. I just got it back from Apple repair. When I go to pair my watch to my phone which is an iPhone 6 it says I need to update the software. When I go to update the software it says I have the current software which is 12.4.7 please help thank you

Your iPhone 6 cannot be updated beyond 12.4.7. It dos not have the necessary components for any newer updates.

Ok thanks. So I assume I need a new phone if I want no continue to use my Apple Watch. That would have been helpful to know as I waited for the 2 weeks it took to get the watch back from repair.
