I have created some smart mailboxes with filtering rules to quickly access mails form some specific senders. In one of the mailboxes i could see an unread message which i could find anywhere.
So to troubleshoot i went to mail > Accounts, and unchecked and checked MAil. Now all the emails in the smartmailboxes are gone! Deleted
Hmmm, do you remember any particulars about some emails that you could search for?
In a Browser, log into your WebMail, are any of the missing ones there?
OK. Look likes after checking and unchecking, it took some time to for the emails to sync back and appear in the inbox and smart mail boxes. I can see all my emails. SO everything is fine and working as expected.
Are the Mails gone or just the Smart boxes?
The smart mail boxes are there. But the mails are gone. Especially mails which were from my gmail account.
