finder won't show external HD

Hi!

Since some time my MacBook Pro won't show external HD's in Finder anymore. The HD's do mount, and I can use them but when trying to save something (for example) it won't give the HD as an optional location.

Nor does it show in the side bar of Finder (even though I have the box ticked in my preferences).

Especially now I want to relink files in FCPX this is super annoying, because I can't direct FCPX to the location where the files are...

Help! Please...

First, concerning FCP, make sure it has "Full Disk Access" in System Preferences->Security & Privacy->Privacy

Are both "Hard Disks" and "External Disks" checked in Finder->Preferences->Sidebar?

If yes, then you migtht try deleting Finder preferences.

As a workaround to reach the drive in Finder or in a Open or Save dialog, you can use the

Command-Shift-G and type

/Volumes/(drive-name)

replacing (drive-name) by the actual name of the drive.
