iTunes is unable to process purchase at this time

I am trying to update my Pages and Numbers apps on my MacBook Pro. I keep getting a message stating "The iTunes Store is unable to process purchases at this time."

I have signed out and signed back into store. I have updated to the latest OS and restarted. I still get the message. I need to work on a shared document and collaboration isn't working properly until I update. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

Are you able to try a different network (e.g. neighbor's WiFi, phone hotspot)?

I don't see any reported system issues but, sometimes there are local problems that don't show up on the status page.

Are you within the App Store, Tluvsdlg?

The error shows the App Store icon, but refers to the iTunes Store.

I know the two are closely related, but I can't say I've seen this sort of "crossover".

I recommend taking a look at your account information: Store -> View My Account. (It should ask for your Apple ID password, unless you've given it already.)

Make sure your account looks like everything is OK.

If so, I would make sure your Internet connection is acting right.

If that's good, too, then it may simply be an Apple Server side issue.
